On Sunday, June 25, the students of Dr. Jeanne Drumm will show off all that they’ve learned during an afternoon piano and violin recital, held in the Southgate at Shrewsbury theatre. Residents will be inviting their families and friends to come and watch this show with them, and it’s sure to be a very enjoyable afternoon.
Then, on Friday, June 30 an energetic performance by the Jumpin’ Juba Band will be broadcast live and in real time for residents of Southgate at Shrewsbury. When band leader Steve Hurl describes Jumpin’ Juba, he rattles off a list of eclectic musical styles that blend together to form an unforgettable sound, including New Orleans swamp-rock, classic boogie-woogie, Memphis rock & roll, folk, calypso, and country. How could you hear that wild description and not want to hear the music for yourself?
