Trip to Pickity Place
We travel to Mason, NH for a 5-course luncheon at Pickity Place. Since 1786 the quaint little red cottage has graced the hills of southern NH seemingly untouched by time. The creative cuisine features fresh herbs and edible flowers harvested daily from their very own culinary garden. Previous registration required.
Men's Breakfast Club
Men’s Breakfast Club welcomes Harry Whitin with a presentation entitled “The Whitins of Whitinsville and the new National Park.” Harry Whitin is an award-winning journalist and the retired editor of the Worcester Telegram & Gazette. Under his leadership, the T&G was a finalist for the prestigious Pulitzer Prize for the only time in the newspapers’ 150-plus year history. He received the Yankee Quill, the highest award given to New England journalists, and retired in 2009 after 44 years with the Telegram & Gazette. In retirement he became interested in family history and from there made the leap to membership on the board of the Blackstone River Valley National Heritage Corridor, eventually serving as board chair. In that role he was the only civilian serving on the committee that is creating the foundation for the Blackstone River Valley National Historical Park. He also coordinated fund-raising for the Heritage Corridor Visitor Center in Worcester, which opened last fall and is becoming a destination in newly revitalized Worcester.
