Honky Tonk Piano Man Gary Landgren
Worcester, Massachusetts resident, Gary Landgren, a primarily self-taught pianist, has been playing his brand of honky tonk piano since he was 15 years old. Landgren is a well-rounded performer who adds anecdotal story-telling, jokes and crowd pleasing inter-actions between his high-spirited and masterful piano playing. Gary is a long time Southgate favorite!

Irish Music Guy Kevin Farley
“Gifts We Can Barely Carry: JFK in Ireland” with Kevin Farley is a “concert documentary” about the role music and song played in JKF’s four-day visit in 1963, and his use of Irish songs and poetry to amplify his message. From songs about the 1798 Rebellion sung by student choruses to fun songs sung by the Bunratty Castle singers to jigs danced by step dancers, Kevin combines his musical talents with film clips of JFK quoting Irish song lyrics in speeches throughout his trip.

Women's Circle Breakfast
Our speaker is James Welu, Director Emeritus of the Worcester Art Muse-um. The title of his presentation is “Helen Bigelow Merriman: Patroness of the Arts.” Helen Bigelow Merriman was one of the most influential figures in the cultural life of Worcester during the nineteenth and early twentieth centuries. Learn how this daughter of an inventor and wife of a minister capitalized on her artistic talent and consider-able wealth to promote the visual arts, including helping to establish the Worcester Art Museum. James Welu joined the staff of the Worcester Art Museum in 1974 as Assistant Curator and went on to serve six years as Chief Curator and 25 years as Director.

Southgate Health Fair
9-11am Walgreens Flu Vaccine. Speakers scheduled included 11am Liz Dahlgren Natale, Registered Dietician, 1pm Brian Cotter, Chiropractor (Healthy Back). On Friday there will be various vendors from 9-11:30am such as Chair Massage, Outreach Educators, and many more. Then at 1pm we will have Khushnam Narielwalla, PT St. Vincent’s Physical Therapy, to speak on Vestibular Therapy. Get Ready for an AWESOME Healthy Event! This year’s event promises to promote well being incentives and get your bodies up and moving! Hope to see you all there.
