Guitarist PE James
P.E. has been entertaining audiences by singing and playing acoustic guitar for over four decades. He is an interpreter of well known songs, having a large repertoire that stretches from the sing-along classics of the 20s, 30s, and 40s, to standards and show tunes, early 50s rock and roll, 60s folk songs, and acoustic rock songs of the 70s.He also writes and performs original material, and his songs have been played on radio stations in Worcester, Massachusetts and his native Pittsburgh, PA.

“Stravinsky Staged-The Firebird & Les Noces” (1 hr 43 min | 2002) This exciting program presents two of Stravinsky’s seminal works to scores commissioned by Serge Diaghilev for his Ballets Russes: The Firebird and Les Noces. Michael Berkeley and Deborah Bull discover more about the ballets and the people who created them. Deborah Bull also dances Nijinsky’s version of The Rite of Spring with choreography recreated by Millicent Hodson.

Women's Circle Breakfast
Our speaker for the Women’s Circle Breakfast on April 14 is Professor Ben Railton, Professor of English and American Studies at Fitchburg State University. The title of his presentation is The 1893 World’s Columbian Exposition in Chicago. He will present this as a linchpin to tell the stories of a number of prominent Americans and how their stories and histories intersected with the fair, making it a defining moment that illustrated where America had been, where it was headed, and where we are as we grapple with these legacies today. Focal figures include Frederick Law Olsmsted, Ida B. Wells, Chief Simon Pokagon, Helen Keller, and many more. Professor Railton earned his Ph.D. in English and American Literature from Temple University and has been at FSU for 16 years. He has taught numerous courses in American Literature and Studies at both the undergraduate and graduate levels.

Professor Gary Hylander continues his 4 -part series on Colonial America with an in-depth look at 4 of the initial major colonies: Virginia, Pennsylvania, New York and MA. Gary earned his PhD at Boston College and has been a professor of history at Framingham State and Stonehill College, as well as a public affairs commentator on local cable news and radio.
