    Since 1995 the Wolverine Jazz Band has been entertaining lovers of Traditional Jazz all over Boston and New England. They are considered by many to be among the finest purveyors of Vintage Jazz on the East Coast. They also have a national following, having performed at numerous Jazz festivals across the country. Perhaps somewhat shockingly, these same seven musicians have managed to stay together as a group for over two decades!

    If you like the uplifting and soulful music of New Orleans you’ll love the sound of the New Black Eagle Jazz Band. The band has delighted audiences all over the world with their huge and eclectic repertoire of jazz from the 1920’s and 30’s. The group has a mature mastery of this great American music- from Louis Armstrong and Jelly Roll Morton to early Duke Ellington to Cole Porter; from blues to rags to gospel and popular songs of the era.

Congressman McGovern began his political career by working in the office of Congressman Joe Moakley, a Democrat from South Boston. He ran for Congress in 1996 and has won reelection in each subsequent term. Congressman McGovern has fought tirelessly for the people of the Massachusetts Second District by bringing millions of dollars worth of federal funding to Worcester and has worked tirelessly to ensure that America stands up for global human rights.

Yet here we are, in the Heart of the Commonwealth, celebrating the arrival of the Worcester Red Sox AND the birth of Polar Park in this city’s resurgent Canal District. We have 3rd base line field box tickets to see the Woosox vs Syracuse Mets. Previous registration required.

    Men’s Breakfast Club welcomes Kevin Mizikar, Shrewsbury’s Town Manager. A Pittsburgh native, he earned a bachelor’s degree in political science and a master’s degree in public administration from West Virginia University. He has received several other recognitions and certifications, including being a certified public purchasing official.

    Join us for a casual brown bag picnic lunch in our own park with music at 12:30 from Dan Gabel and his Worcester Youth Jazz Ensemble. These talented students focus on a traditional and current big band repertoire. The group members are guided through a history of big band arranging and composition, and perform selections from key eras and writers. Previous registration required for brown bag lunch.

  • Green Dragon Bindery Presentation

    The Green Dragon Bindery was established as a book bindery in 1964 by Al-lan “Skip” Carpenter Jr. and is located on an historic property in Shrewsbury, Massachusetts. Gradually, what started as a hobby in the antique business, blossomed into a small family operation that today boasts over 150 years of combined bookbinding experience. Their services range from book binding (leather, cloth, vellum and paper), wall & atlas maps, posters, documents, globes, scientific instruments and objects.

  • Vocalist Patty Carver celebrates lyricist Dorothy Fields!

    Patty is a professional singer, actress and writer with international credits. She has performed in New York, Los Angeles and London and has been seen across the country in Regional, Stock and Dinner Theatre doing a lot of Musical Theatre. Her favorites include, The Sound of Music, South Pacific, Oklahoma, and Damn Yankees, just to name a few! She is Artistic Director of the professional national touring company Connecticut Children’s Theatre and has written over 40 original musicals for young audiences produced and performed for over one million children through national tours and New York productions.
