Jim grew up in Medford and while attending The Berklee School of Music in Boston he began performing around the New England area. He then began a jazz vocal career and has recorded seven critically acclaimed CDs performing in jazz and cabaret settings in the U.S. & abroad. Jim is Jazz…at it’s finest.

Our speaker is Professor Paul Mahon, retired Professor Emeritus from Assumption University and Docent at the Worcester Art Museum. His topic is “What the Nazis Stole From Richard Neumann and the Search to Get It Back.” Starting with a brief description of the role played by the Worcester Art Museum in the restitution of the art stolen by the Nazis, we will look at the experience of the Neumann family who barely escaped Nazi Europe and lost almost everything along the way. 16 pieces of the collection have been retrieved by the family. 14 of these pieces are on exhibit at the WAM. We will look at the exhibit, which includes one piece that was retrieved only months before the exhibit opened.

We travel to the SoWa Power Station in Boston for this outing. Imagine Van Gogh, is an exhibition where one can admire The Starry Night, Irises and Sunflowers, or be drawn into the intimacy of his Bedroom in Arles. An experience that brings viewers to the heart of its images, Imagine Van Gogh is accompanied by the music of the great composers Saint-Saëns, Mozart, Bach, Delibes and Satie. Celebrate Valentine’s Day with us and a Southgate favorite! The Tom Nutile Octet is one of the region’s premier swing bands. Tom’s musicians have performed with some of the best-known big-band and pop groups in the world, and have been on stage everywhere from Symphony Hall in Boston to stadiums and clubs in Europe, China, Japan, Thailand and the Caribbean. They are first-call musicians for recording sessions in Boston and New York. They have taught at the Berklee College of Music, New England Conservatory and Connecticut College. They are the best musicians you will find anywhere, and perform for us here tonight.
