This month we host rehearsal time for both Dan Gabel and the Abletones as well as the Tom Nutile Big Band. Please see your calendar grid for specifics. These are not concert performances but casual rehearsal sessions. Residents are welcome to quietly observe .

Classical pianist I-Heung Lee will play selections of Chopin, Bach, Liszt, and more. Music critics have described her performances as ‘graceful, thoughtful, and intelligent, touched with a unique style of artistic sophistication.’ She received a Master’s Degree in Piano Performance, a Piano Post-Graduate Diploma, and a Piano Professional Diploma, studying at the Julliard School of Music and the City University of NY.

Our speaker for this month’s Men’s Breakfast is resident John McClymer. His topic is entitled “Since Henry Ford Apologized to Me”: Using Stereotyped Ethnic Voices to Subvert Ethnic Stereotypes in Early 20th Century U.S. This multimedia presentation examines how second-generation American Jews used their new-found access to popular culture, including phonograph records and movies, to challenge anti-Semitic stereotypes and slurs.
