Trip to Peabody Essex Museum
The mission of PEM is to celebrate outstanding artistic and cultural creativity by collecting, stewarding and interpreting objects of art and culture in ways that increase knowledge, enrich the spirit, engage the mind and stimulate the senses. Docent guided tour of the museum highlights. Lunch on your own in the Museum Café. Previous registration required.

Storytelling Performance
Resident and storyteller Helena Leet-Pellegrini tells humorous, thought provoking tales about the ordinary and not so ordinary events of everyday life and relationships. Helena won a storytelling award at MassMouth Boston Story Grand Slam and has been a favorite at several MA storytelling spaces. At Southgate Helena will share her journey through different stages of relationship titled “Love Follies Over Time,” and her journey to rekindle being young at heart titled “Wander in Wonder.”

Friends of Southgate Rehearsals
This month we host rehearsal time for both Dan Gabel and the Abletones as well as the Tom Nutile Big Band. Please see your calendar grid for specifics. These are not concert performances but casual rehearsal sessions. Residents are welcome to quietly observe .

Broadway HD Screening
Broadway: The American Musical Part I
Julie Andrews hosts this comprehensive chronicle of the American musical that captures a century of Broadway through interviews, archival footage, personal writings, newsreels and home movies. Ziegfeld, Irving Berlin, George M. Cohan, Jerome Kern, Cole Porter, the Gershwins, and Rodgers and Hammerstein are just a few of the featured icons, along with dozens of musicals! This disc includes “Give my Regards to Broadway (1893-1927) and “Syncopated City” (1919-1933).
