The Library at Southgate is completely staffed and funded by volunteers and donations.
The links below enable you to find the kind of book you want, from fiction to non-fiction, including modern classics, mysteries, biographies, poetry, and more.
How to Check Out a Book
We depend upon a sign-out honor system to keep track of our more than 2,600 books, and appreciate residents returning books in a timely fashion.
Please sign-out (and sign-in) the books you borrow in the Library’s notebook.
New acquisitions are marked as a “2-week loan” as a reminder to return borrowed books within 2 weeks.
How to Donate to the Library
The library accepts donated new or used books which are less than 5 years old. One exception to this policy is our Modern Classics bookcase, which houses new classics, often older, and worthy of space in our collection.
We also accept monetary gifts in recognition of a person or an event. These gifts are noted with a bookplate on the flyleaf and are never discarded.
